Nursing Team Leader - Centralized Monitoring

About the role

The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, patient care, and staff development within a healthcare unit. Reporting to the unit manager, they are also involved in coordinating educational programs and mentoring new staff members.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates unit activities and provides leadership for staffing and patient assignments.
• Responds to and leads during crisis and emergency situations.
• Evaluates nursing care provided to patients.
• Promotes efficient patient flow and maintains a safe environment.
• Serves as a clinical resource and mentor for staff.
• Maintains records and participates in staff evaluations.
• Facilitates bidirectional communication and ensures timely information exchange.
• Maintains performance, patient, and employee satisfaction standards.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current Alabama or Multi-State License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a registered nurse required.
• Specialty nursing experience in applied area preferred.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required.
• Completion of ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and other relevant certifications within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Ability to perform medium work, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama or Multi-State RN license or ability to obtain prior to start.
• BSN preferred, minimum Associates required.
• Ability to use computers, electronic mail, and other necessary software.
• Must adhere to DCH Behavioral Standards and Health System policies.
