Responsibilities
- Maintains overall responsibility for resident assessments and for the recognition and reporting of resident change of condition to the attending physician.
- Aids in the management of all levels of nursing staff to ensure accountability to all standards of nursing practice, quality care and treatments.
- Makes house rounds regularly throughout the shift and consults with Charge Nurses concerning new admissions and acutely ill residents; assists Charge Nurses with coordination of CNA assignments as needed to ensure efficient quality care.
- Available to respond to clinical emergencies, regulatory agency visits, surveys and issues as needed.
- Participates in on-call rotation for clinical emergencies and other clinical/facility issues.
- Aids the DNS, ADNS and SD in on-going training of nursing staff to support clinical services and to meet and exceed established clinical competency levels; monitors and assists in the training of specialty unit personnel to maintain active competencies and/or certifications required for the specific unit.
Qualifications
- A current, unencumbered MA RN license is preferred. LPN considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of increased responsibility as a Charge Nurse or Supervisor in long term care and/or in a rehabilitation facility.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and work with all disciplines in a challenging multi-cultural environment.
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, required.
- A working knowledge of EMR systems.
- IV Certification required.
