The Trinitas Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry, part of Trinitas Regional Medical Center and an RWJBarnabas Health facility, offers comprehensive treatments for daily stress, aging challenges, child development, and chemical dependency alternatives. With specialized care for adults, children, adolescents, and families, including provisions for mentally ill/developmentally-disabled individuals in a 98-bed inpatient facility, we serve individuals from Union County and across New Jersey. Providing over 200,000 outpatient visits annually, our services range from Mobile Crisis Units to Inpatient and Outpatient care, staffed by a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of practitioners, including bilingual staff. Qualifications
- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- 3 – 5 years of direct patient care in Psych, Behavioral Health, Med./Surg, Telemetry and/or ER nursing experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Certifications and Licenses Required:
- BLS through American Heart Association upon hire
- ACLS Certification within 6 months of start date
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement
- Preferred:
- BSN / MSN / DNP
- National nursing certifications
Scheduling Requirements
Part - Time
28 hours per week
Evening shift
Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by dept
Example of scheduling. Week 1: Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Thursday 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Friday 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Week 2: Monday 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Tuesday 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Essential Functions
- The Nursing Supervisor's major responsibility is the implementation of the mission, vision, philosophy, core values and standards of practice for all staff on off-tours and weekends
- Serves as a catalyst and role model, providing administrative leadership and direction
- Responsible for allocating the available resources to promote autonomous, effective, safe, cost-efficient, and compassionate quality care
- Facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and other disciplines, as well as with the healthcare community
- Accountable for the acute care environment and must create learning experiences that are open and respectful, at the same time promoting the sharing of expertise
- The ability to enhance the practice environment is critical to the recruitment and retention of all staff
- The Nursing Supervisor contributes to organizational strategic planning, and is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations, implementation of standards of care, attainment of goals, and implementation of current evidenced-based practices
