About the role

Your role as Nursing Supervisor involves supervising healthcare professionals and ensuring high patient care levels. Maintain a safe environment and nurture nursing practice to improve patient outcomes. Oversee operations, productivity, and resource distribution to meet department priorities.

The schedule for this position is full-time, weekdays (M-F, 8a-4:30p) at our Oncology department.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with members from different professional fields to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Supervise clinical operations across two outpatient Cancer Centers while partnering closely with the Oncology Nurse Manager to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Mentor staff, manage daily operations, resolve clinical issues, and foster collaboration among physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and ancillary departments.
  • Lead change, support quality and regulatory initiatives, maintain staffing and workflow efficiency, and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and exceptional patient experience.
  • Assess the effectiveness of nursing practices and infuse evidence-based practices and research discoveries.
  • Foster a caring and outcome-promoting environment.
  • Encourage development and open up growth opportunities for staff members.
  • Efficiently manage resources to promote safety within the healthcare system.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of nursing standards and patient care procedures.
  • Superb communication abilities and expertise in creating and assessing patient care plans.
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations and diverse medical and office software applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Five years of experience as an RN, with leadership experience required.
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • OCN Certification preferred, or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) valid in Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.
