Administrative Nursing Supervisor Oncology

Scope of Position

The Supervisor is primarily responsible for administering nursing operations within The James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute during off-shift hours including weekends and holidays. The Administrative Nursing Supervisor is responsible for enforcing hospital, nursing, and medical policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the immediate care of patients on a given tour of duty, including making rounds to all patient care areas.
• Obtaining report from the charge nurse and maintaining knowledge of current patient status.
• Supervising nursing department personnel on duty and contributing to their evaluation.
• Recommending personnel actions (e.g., disciplinary actions, terminations) to the appropriate nurse manager.
• Coordinating nursing activities with related departments and acting as liaison to OSUH.
• Providing information for staffing needs.
• Functioning as The James Cancer Hospital & Research Institute representative for crisis, emergency, or unusual situations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Ohio licensure.
• Three years of inpatient RN experience required.
• Progressively responsible hospital nursing experience in administration and supervision preferred.
• BSN required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
