Nursing Simulation & Skills Lab Assistant
About the role
The Arizona College of Nursing is seeking a Nursing Simulation & Skills Lab Assistant (Nursing Lab Specialist) to join their Hartford, CT campus. This position is ideal for healthcare professionals with backgrounds such as Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Certified Nursing Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with the Nursing Lab Manager and faculty to coordinate instructional lab sessions.
- Support the Nursing Lab Manager and faculty in purchasing, organizing, and re-stocking the nursing lab supplies.
- Cookout updates, service, and replacement of nursing lab equipment as required.
- Coordinate setup of simulation and skills labs to facilitate effective academic sessions.
- Control the simulator (Hi-Fidelity Mannequin) for various clinical scenarios in accordance with faculty specifications.
- Operate the patient simulator, camera, and debrief system for the duration of a simulation while troubleshooting any equipment malfunctions.
- Deliver a theatrical production of scenarios to students in accordance with the academic plan, acting as a simulated patient when required by the scenario.
- Adhere to standards and safety protocols in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
Must have an Associate degree in a healthcare-related area of study or equivalent skills and healthcare experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and follow-up skills, and ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and students are required.
