Duties And Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to faculty in planning, implementing, and scheduling the skills lab curriculum.
- This includes utilizing a range of patient care equipment and supplies, employing computer-based instructional tools and programs, designing and executing patient simulations using patient simulators, and addressing any technical issues that arise.
- Affords assistance to other divisions in scheduling the use of the lab.
- Affords assistance to the admissions department in providing local student tours of the lab.
- Serves as a supervisor and provides leadership and direction for the lab technician.
- Affords assistance to faculty in setting up supplies and equipment for each skills lab.
- Affords responsibility for assessing laboratory spaces in the Career Programs Building to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other regulatory agencies.
- Affords responsibility for assessing all equipment to ensure proper maintenance and functionality in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Affords responsibility for repairing simulation and technical equipment as needed.
- Affords responsibility for maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment for the Nursing labs.
- Affords responsibility for ordering supplies as needed.
- Affords responsibility for meeting with various equipment representatives, obtaining quotes, and making recommendations for purchasing supplies and equipment.
- Affords responsibility for providing training for faculty for new supplies and equipment.
- Affords responsibility for maintaining the lab in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Participates in division and college wide committees and activities as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.
- Previous experience managing learning laboratories for nursing and allied health science programs preferred.
- Previous experience managing hospital supplies and equipment will be considered.
Skills And Abilities
- Excellent organization and management skills.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and patient care supplies and equipment.
- Ability to learn and work with clinical simulation software and a variety of high-fidelity simulators.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with staff, students, vendors, and the community.
- Able to organize and prioritize work, make decisions independently, and attend to details.
