- Two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal)

- 1000-word essay written in APA format addressing:
- What it means to be a nurse
- Your educational goals
- Your visions and goals for a successful nursing career
- How the scholar program will help you achieve your educational goals
- Your personal accomplishments or achievements
- Your past medical experiences, volunteer opportunities, or internships
Scholar Requirements
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA
- Meet all deadlines and scholar program requirements
- Successfully complete the nursing program
- Pass the NCLEX within sixty days of graduation
- Commit to a direct-care RN position within sixty days of graduation
- Commit to working in a direct-care RN role for twenty-four months
- Meet all onboarding requirements
- Complete the UofL Health Nurse Residency Program
