Nursing Scheduler / Staffing Coordinator

About the Role

Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Scheduler to assist the Director of Nursing in developing the nursing schedule for the nursing department. This role involves communication with staff regarding scheduling changes, time-off requests, and coordinating schedules for nurses.

Responsibilities

• Complete the nursing department schedule for all units and shifts on a timely basis.
• Provide daily updates of open shift needs and initiate contact with skilled nursing staff to fill those needs.
• Input new schedules and adjust existing schedules using Smartlinx software.
• Find replacement staff to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
• Complete daily timekeeping functions, staffing reports, and process nursing staff time-off requests promptly.
• Ensure all units and shifts meet the minimum PPD (patient-per-day) set by the daily staffing budget.
• Reconcile the 24-hour staffing sheet and calculate PPD daily in accordance with DOH standards.
• Maintain the vacation/PTO request process and ensure shifts are covered.
• Communicate open positions to nursing leadership and HR.
• Coordinate with outside nursing agencies for staffing needs and verify required credentials.
• Keep nursing leadership informed of daily staffing status.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrative team.

Requirements

• Must have experience in staffing and scheduling.
• At least 1 year of staffing experience in an in-patient or long-term care setting.
• Prior experience with Smartlinx is preferred.
• Clinical experience is a bonus.
• Associates degree or equivalent is required.
• Must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen.
