Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing to identify qualified participants in various settings such as schools, homes, clinics, and community settings.
- Supports nursing needs at outreach/awareness and incident response events, including mass immunization, emergency response activities, and community health engagements.
- Provides case management services in NCF locations (Taft, Union Park, Bithlo/Christmas, Englewood, and Pine Hills).
- Identifies needs/goals, conducts assessments, provides counseling, ensures access to medical care, and follows up on client/family needs.
- Administers vaccinations to children during back-to-school season, adhering to CDC guidelines and managing vaccine storage and accountability.
- Conducts health screenings for students in the assigned schools, including vision, hearing, growth and development, and scoliosis.
- Manages referrals for abnormal screenings and provides home visits when necessary.
- Provides health education and counseling to senior citizens regarding chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
- Coordinates community activities and health-related programs, such as health fairs, screenings, and educational programs.
- Reviews NCF quarterly reports with other nurses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Supports and trains new nurses in the NCF program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active licensed Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with F.S. 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with F.A.C. 210-6.27.
- One year of professional nursing experience.
- A minimum of 6-month immunization experience.
- Ability to work during or beyond normal work hours as needed, including emergency duties.
- Availability to work at NCF Englewood or NCF Bithlo locations.
- Requirement to work 6 Saturdays per year.
- Ability to work in an office or field setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in Haitian Creole or Spanish.
