About the role

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist focuses on enhancing nursing staff's professional growth through education, training, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements educational programs to address practice gaps, supporting lifelong learning.
  • Collaborates with leadership to identify needs, design curricula, and improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.
  • Promotes evidence-based practice, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitates nurse transitions across roles and environments.
  • Drives change and process improvements using project management and improvement strategies.
  • Influences inter-professional practice and learning environments through collaboration.
  • Supports professional development as a recognized nursing specialty.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience, including inpatient pediatric behavioral health.
  • Experience in project management, data analysis, and organizational collaboration preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Education: BSN or higher; MSN in progress preferred.
  • Licensure: RN license, BLS certification required; PALS may be required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
  • Experience supervising is not required.
