About the role
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist focuses on enhancing nursing staff's professional growth through education, training, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements educational programs to address practice gaps, supporting lifelong learning.
- Collaborates with leadership to identify needs, design curricula, and improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.
- Promotes evidence-based practice, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitates nurse transitions across roles and environments.
- Drives change and process improvements using project management and improvement strategies.
- Influences inter-professional practice and learning environments through collaboration.
- Supports professional development as a recognized nursing specialty.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience, including inpatient pediatric behavioral health.
- Experience in project management, data analysis, and organizational collaboration preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Education: BSN or higher; MSN in progress preferred.
- Licensure: RN license, BLS certification required; PALS may be required.
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
- Experience supervising is not required.
