Responsibilities
Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
Requirements
- NYS RN license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Master’s degree in related field
- Board certification in Nursing Professional Development encouraged
- Required experience in acute nursing care
Qualifications
- Mandatory education and competencies must be up to date and maintained according to service area/unit requirements
- Must have received a "Successful" or "Exceeds Expectations" on most recent evaluation to move to per diem status
- Must have worked (FT/PT) in a clinical setting within the previous twelve months to transition to per diem status
