Nursing Professional Development Practitioner - Emergency Department
Position Summary
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is a full-time role dedicated to supporting the education and professional development of staff within the Emergency Department (ED).
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new ED staff, ensuring a smooth transition into the department.
- Manage competency assessments and ongoing professional development for ED staff.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver targeted educational programs specific to emergency care.
- Support role development initiatives within the ED through education and training activities.
- Collaborate with ED leadership and other stakeholders to meet departmental and system-wide educational objectives.
- Promote a culture of inquiry and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes in emergency care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Two years experience preferred.
- Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet the system educational needs.
- Must have the ability to display knowledge and utilization of principles of adult learning.
- Emergency Department experience strongly preferred.
