About the role

The Behavioral Health and Emergency Department Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPD Practitioner) at Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center, under limited supervision, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive education and professional development programs supporting the Behavioral Health (BHU) and Emergency Department (ED) service lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and evaluates education programs for the BHU and ED using adult learning principles and professional development standards.
  • Provides leadership, support, and at-the-elbow education for frontline team members in the BHU and ED, promoting clinical excellence in high-acuity and crisis-driven environments.
  • PARTNERS WITH BHU and ED leadership, as well as interdisciplinary teams, to advance quality improvement initiatives, regulatory readiness, and hospital-wide education priorities.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; Master’s preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license required; American Heart Association issued BLS required.
  • Certification: National certification required (e.g., Nursing Specialty, Nursing Professional Development, or ASTD); additional certifications as appropriate, including AHA ACLS, NRP, PALS, and corresponding Instructor certifications.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Behavioral Health and/or Emergency Nursing experience required; previous education or teaching experience preferred.
