About the role

The Nursing Practice Specialist is responsible for developing educational programs, clinical decision-making, management of quality outcomes, and participation in research activities. They provide patient care in the clinical environment, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and patient and family counseling activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides expert-level consultation and advises clinical staff on the formulation of diagnoses and treatment plans for patients and families.
  • Plans and delivers relevant staff and patient education to nurses and other members of the health care team on matters regarding plan of care for patient and family.
  • Participates in research and evidence-based practice activities that will positively affect patient care outcomes.
  • Provide health care services to patients.
  • Forming a diagnosis and management and treatment of illness and disease.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing required and Master's Degree Nursing required.
  • Licenses and Credentials: Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred; Clinical Nurse Specialist [CNS - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred.
  • Experience: Clinical nursing experience 3-5 years required and Clinical education experience 2-3 years preferred and Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical nursing care practices and principles.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based care plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
  • Leadership abilities to provide guidance, mentorship, and education to nursing staff.
  • Ability to stay updated on the latest advancements in nursing skills and patient care through continuous learning and professional development.
