Nursing Manager - Gynecologic Oncology & Nurse Navigator

About the role

The Nurse Manager leads a team passionate about providing compassionate, coordinated care. They manage outpatient departments, ensuring day-to-day operations align with the Cancer Center's strategic plan.

Responsibilities

• Manages nursing staff and nursing activities in outpatient departments, including patient care, record keeping, and personnel issues.
• Supports the Cancer Center's mission, vision, policies, goals, and objectives.
• Monitors patient care areas and other facilities for cleanliness and readiness.
• Schedules nursing staff and manages productivity levels.
• Trains new staff members and develops existing staff members.
• Maintains current certifications and tracks staff certifications.
• Reviews and recommends process improvements for performance assessments.
• Implements performance improvement policies and trains employees on these policies.
• Assists with providing feedback in the collection and preparation of budget information.
• Manages inventory levels and supplies for the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred.
• At least three years' experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinical role.
• Two years leadership/management experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursing care.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing.
• Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and patients.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
