Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the operations of the nursing home, ensuring high standards of resident care and safety.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal long-term care regulations, health policies, and licensing requirements; develop departmental procedures and policies in accordance with governing statutes.
• Supervise staff including nursing leadership, caregiving teams, and administrative personnel; foster a positive team environment through effective leadership and supervision.
• Act as lead in annual U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs survey and Ohio Department of Health annual survey and all other complaint and/or compliance activities related to same; review and develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections.
• Maintain cooperative relations with representatives of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Department of Aging, area hospitals, veteran service organizations, and other nursing homes; plan, implement, and evaluate life safety programs and nursing educational programs.
• Evaluate the annual financial program and coordinate development of the budget for departments under the authority of the Nursing Home Administrator.
• Plan and participate in the capital budget process to make improvements in the quality of buildings and surroundings of the nursing home.
• Serve as representative on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Committee, Compliance Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee; attend Resident Council meetings and Family Council meetings to present on current events at the Nursing Home.
• Coordinate with external agencies for disability services, community outreach, and resident rights advocacy to enhance quality of life.

Requirements

• Valid nursing home administrator's license as issued by Ohio Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators, Department of Health pursuant to Section 4751.02 of Revised Code.
• Proven experience in nursing home administration or senior living facility management with a strong background in long-term care settings.
• Extensive knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's programs, memory care strategies, and resident’s rights protections.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising multidisciplinary teams within healthcare or residential care environments.
• Familiarity with long-term care regulations, health policy compliance, and healthcare financial management practices.
