About the Role
Assist the Nursing Program Director and other faculty members in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum. Develop strategies to teach the curriculum and assist in its implementation through teaching, supervising, and providing academic advisement to students.
Responsibilities
- Remain familiar with institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the College Catalog and the Faculty Handbook and follow such policies and procedures.
- Didactic Instruction
- Clinical/Lab Instruction
- Fulfill all primary responsibilities listed above to achieve the immediate goals of the campus while meeting organization-wide goals. Adjustments or additions to responsibilities may be required by management to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements
- Qualifications must align with nursing faculty requirements as per Title 19, Series 1-11.1 of the West Virginia Legislative Rule.
- Hold a graduate degree with a major in nursing; or
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing and meet one of the following:
- Be enrolled in a graduate program within one year of employment as a faculty member; or
- Have 10 years of direct care patient experience in nursing for full-time faculty; or
- Have 2 years of direct care patient experience in nursing for part-time faculty.
- Three (3) years of occupational experience.
- Hold a current, active, unencumbered RN license or privilege to practice that meets the requirements of the Board of Nursing.
- Provide evidence of current experience in nursing practice and education sufficient to demonstrate professional competence; or, for faculty with less than two years’ experience in education, the nursing program administrator will submit a mentoring and orientation plan to the Board and function under the guidance of a fully qualified faculty member.
- Interprofessional faculty teaching non-clinical nursing courses must have advanced preparation appropriate for the content being taught.
