About the Role

This position functions as a unit educator, master teacher, and preceptor, facilitating evidence-based research and integrating nursing processes into patient care plans for diverse age groups. The role includes delivering direct patient care, supervising clinical students, and assisting in staffing to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership to enhance patient care within clinical protocols
• Develop and implement unit-based strategies for clinical skill development
• Perform as a clinical instructor and assist in staffing
• Develop patient care plans based on evidence and standards
• Serve as a clinical resource and consult with multidisciplinary teams
• Educate staff on new equipment and procedures through in-service training
• Assist patients and caregivers with health education and problem solving
• Collaborate with educators and leaders to plan curricula
• Monitor trends, implement educational strategies, and ensure safety standards
• Deliver safe, direct patient care and coordinate treatments and procedures
• Participate in ongoing professional development and promote patient safety
• Administer medications, document findings, and write treatment plans

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
• Minimum 18 months of related experience
• RN licensure (NM or reciprocal)
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days
• Instructing certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, NRP) within 90 days

Skills

• Strong physical ability to perform heavy work and handle physical demands
• Ability to work in environments requiring PPE due to hazards
• Effective communication, clinical teaching, and leadership skills
