About the role
The Arizona College of Nursing is a rapidly growing institution that prepares students for successful careers in nursing. It offers a bachelor's in nursing program in 3 years or less, leveraging qualified transfer credits to prepare students for the nursing shortage.
Responsibilities
- Teach at least 36 credits annually and design an effective learning environment addressing contemporary issues in nursing.
- Evaluate student learning using various assessment tools and actively participate in curriculum design, program evaluation, and revision.
- Mentor faculty, adjuncts, and students, and serve as a role model for soft skills like leadership, ethics, communication, and teamwork.
- Communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students, and maintain records of student performance.
- Oversee clinical adjuncts, facilitate clinical practice, and communicate regularly with Course Lead Faculty about student progress.
- Plan, teach, and evaluate classroom, clinical, and other learning experiences, connecting students to campus resources.
- Participate in governance structures to develop, evaluate, and revise admission, progression, and completion policies.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university.
- Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty preferred.
- Maintains professional competence through activities such as nursing practice, continuing education, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing.
