Nursing Education Program Coordinator
About the role
This position supports the effective operation of Manhattan Area Technical College’s pre-licensure nursing programs (Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing) and related healthcare offerings. The Nursing Education Program Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, clinical partners, and internal departments, ensuring timely communication and compliance with Kansas State Board of Nursing, Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services, and national accreditation standards (ACEN).
Responsibilities
- Program Operations & Scheduling: Coordinate academic calendars, course schedules, faculty workload, room assignments, and lab/skills/simulation schedules; maintain and publish master program calendars; track faculty assignments and support adjunct onboarding; reserve spaces and manage shared calendars; proctor makeup or retake exams.
- Clinical Placement Coordination: Secure clinical placements and manage affiliation agreements; coordinate site communication, orientation, and onboarding; track compliance requirements (immunizations, background checks, drug screens, BLS, OSHA/HIPAA training, health insurance); use systems such as myClinicalExchange; ensure HIPAA/FERPA-compliant handling of records.
- Student Services & Advising Support: Serve as first point of contact; answer phones and emails; route inquiries; support application, admission, registration, progression, and graduation processes; prepare KSBN licensure documentation; assist with orientation, bootcamps, and pinning ceremonies; coordinate testing and standardized assessments.
- Accreditation, Compliance & Quality Improvement: Assist with ACEN, KSBN, and site visit activities; maintain program policies and procedures; compile outcomes data (retention, graduation, NCLEX pass rates, employment, clinical evaluations, student learning outcomes); ensure secure record retention per federal, state, and accrediting body requirements.
- Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate student and program records in shared drives and Canvas; prepare routine and ad hoc reports.

Pay
Salary Grade 9: Hourly rate $17.85 – $26.78. Actual compensation will be based on education and experience within the approved range and available budget. Position is salaried equivalent to a 40-hour workweek at the offered hourly rate.
