Nursing Coordinator (RN) / Electrophysiology
Location: St. Vincent’s Medical Center (Bridgeport, CT)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM; no holidays, weekends, or call.
About the role
This position coordinates nursing activities and resources within a clinical specialty or department. You will provide holistic, quality, and cost-effective nursing care for patients and families, applying the nursing process within the organization’s Framework for Professional Practice. You will manage transitions across the care continuum, delegate and supervise work, and serve as a clinical expert and professional role model.
Responsibilities
- Monitor departmental compliance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Provide both direct and indirect patient care appropriate to patients served, considering age and cultural differences.
- Assist management with operational activities, including development of nursing staff advancement based on contemporary, safe, evidence-based nursing practice.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
- Perform quality assurance studies and assist with implementation of quality assurance and/or improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow, and clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
- Utilize efficient decision-making and problem-solving to ensure quality service and promote patient and employee satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with peers and interdisciplinary teams to achieve desired outcomes for patients.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate’s degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree in nursing is highly preferred.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health (required prior to hire).
- Certification in area of specialty is a plus.
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (required prior to hire).
- Three years of nursing experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English; ability to speak another language is a plus.
- Strong ability to apply the principles and practices of nursing.
- Membership in a professional nursing organization is preferred.
