Job Overview
The Nursing Coordinator position provides support for the Director of Nursing. They also provide monitoring, education, and direction to the nursing staff as directed by the DON. The Nursing Coordinator helps ensure that each PHF and CTF client receives the nursing care, treatment, medications, and diet, which have been ordered by the attending physician, ensuring the overall quality of licensed nursing care for Star View.

Qualifications
- Active, valid California LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse), or LPT (Licensed Psychiatric Technician) license.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Licensed Vocational Nursing or Licensed Psychiatric Technology, preferred.
- Experience & Training:
- Clinical Experience: One (1) year experience working with severely emotionally disturbed (SED) children OR a 40 hours of regulatory on-the-job training.
- Preferred Experience: One (1) year of medication administration experience, an associate's degree, Quality Assurance (QA) experience, and/or prior supervisory experience.
Core Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of medication administration, especially psychotropic meds and medical treatment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively interact with seriously emotionally disturbed adolescents, physicians, staff, and the public.
