Nursing Assistant Training Program – Accelerated
About the role
The UW Health Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program seeks individuals to participate in a full-time, 40-hour per week position from August 31st to September 28th, 2026. Participants will assist with various healthcare services and tasks under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living
- Provide patient transport
- Stock supplies as needed
- Interact positively with hospital staff, visitors, patients, and their families
Qualifications
- Formal acceptance into the UW Health Nursing Assistant Clinical Apprentice Program
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or at least 60 college credits, preferably with at least junior-year college standing
- Prior work experience preferred but not required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
Benefits
Participants will receive a competitive starting pay of $18.25 per hour/year towards obtaining their Certification as a Nursing Assistant through the State of Wisconsin. Successful completion leads to interviews and potential transfer to various units within the hospital.

Schedule
Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, starting August 31st, 2026.
