About the role

Sapphire Health Services Nursing Assistant Training Program is now accepting applications for September and October classes. Classes start on September 1st, 2026, with orientations and sessions scheduled throughout the month.

Responsibilities

  • Provide residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality.
  • Be an integral part of the team caring for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation residents.
  • Foster a supportive, compassionate environment for our residents and their families.
  • Aid with feeding and ensure residents receive proper nutrition.
  • Learn to measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Observe and report any changes in resident health status to supervising nurses.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
  • Engage resident activities to enhance their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Gain hands-on experience with basic clinical procedures under the supervision of licensed nurses.
  • Practice infection control protocols and safety procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced staff.
  • Language proficiency: Must be proficient in English to effectively communicate with residents and healthcare team members.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills Day is scheduled for Tuesday, 9/29/2026, from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, and Skills Day/Graduation is on Wednesday, 9/30/2026, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The program includes 10 days of classroom instruction and 5 days of clinical experience, plus 2 certification testing preparation days and an opportunity to test at the institute.

Skills

The program prepares students to pass the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) test offered through Oregon State Board of Nursing. Upon successful completion, students are eligible for employment opportunities with Sapphire Health Services and tuition reimbursement for Healthcare Professional Courses.
