Nursing Assistant - Telemetry
About the role
Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients across various units, including:
- General Nursing Units: Patients aged 15 years to maturity.
- Special Care Areas: High-risk patients aged 15 years through adult.
- Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery (pregnancy-related conditions), Nursery (newborns until discharge), and Pediatrics (neonate through age 18).
- GI Lab Unit: Patients from toddlers (age 24 months) through adult.
- Chemical Dependent and Psychiatric Units: Adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional health.
- Emergency Unit: Patients of all ages, with specialized care for pediatric and high-risk adult cases.
- Surgical Services: Patients from neonate to geriatric.
You will complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Preferred Education: Completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.
- Preferred Experience: 6 months in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.
- Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention – obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
