Nursing Assistant - Telemetry

About the role

Under the direction/supervision of an RN, you will provide basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients across various units:

• General Nursing Units: patients from age 15 years to maturity
• Special Care Areas: patients from age 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions
• Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery (pregnancy-related conditions), Nursery (newborn until discharge), Pediatric (neonate through age 18)
• GI Lab Unit: toddlers (beginning age 24 months) through adult
• Chemical Dependent and Psychiatric Units: adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional problems
• Emergency Unit: patients of all ages, including pediatric and high-risk adult care
• Surgical Services: patients from neonate to geriatric

You will complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
• Preferred Education: Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course
• Preferred Experience: 6 months in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position
