About the Role

Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients across various units, including General Nursing, Special Care, Maternal Child, GI Lab, Chemical Dependent/Psychiatric, Emergency, and Surgical Services. This role may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

You will care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatric, ensuring clinically competent support tailored to each unit’s specific needs. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring a positive healthcare experience.
  • Deliver basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN.
  • Support patients across diverse units, including but not limited to:
    • General Nursing Units (patients aged 15 years to maturity).
    • Special Care Areas (high-risk patients aged 15 years through adult).
    • Maternal Child Units (pregnancy-related conditions, newborn care, and pediatric patients from neonate to age 18).
    • GI Lab Unit (patients from 24 months through adult).
    • Chemical Dependent and Psychiatric Units (adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional health).
    • Emergency Unit (patients of all ages, including pediatric and high-risk adult care).
    • Surgical Services (patients from neonate to geriatric).

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: Completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.
  • Preferred Experience: 6 months in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.
  • Required Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
    • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position).
