About the role

Be the heart of compassionate care in a patient care support role. In this vital position, you’ll provide essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients under the direction/supervision of an RN
• Care for patients from age 15 years to maturity on General Nursing Units
• Care for patients from age 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions in Special Care Areas
• Labor and Delivery: care for patients with pregnancy-related conditions
• Nursery: care for newborns until discharge
• Pediatrics: care for patients from neonate through age eighteen
• GI Lab Unit: care for toddlers (beginning age 24 months) through adult
• Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit: care for adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional problems
• Emergency Unit: provide care to presenting patients of all ages, including pediatric and high-risk adult care
• Surgical Services: provide care to patients from neonate to geriatric
• Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent

Preferred qualifications

• Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course
• 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures

Required certifications

• BLS obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position
