About the role

Martin Luther Care Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Registered (CNA/NAR) to support residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility, which includes Transitional Care and Long-term care. This role provides hands-on care and support services for senior-age patients at our spacious care center in Bloomington, MN.

This position includes a schedule of 16 hours every two weeks on the day shift, with every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) and holiday rotations.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents based on individual care plans with personal cares such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, showers, and responding to call lights.
• Check and record vitals per community patient care model.
• Provide AM/PM/NOC cares, including peri care and catheter care.
• Turn, lift, or transfer residents with or without other persons/mechanical assistance.
• Observe residents and report status to appropriate staff in a clear and concise manner.
• Chart or document in the electronic medical record system.
• Seek to resolve resident and family concerns.
• Receive and give reports to appropriate staff during various times in the work shift.
• Maintain order and cleanliness in rooms and work areas.
• Report malfunctioning equipment to the maintenance department.
• Answer phones in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Active as Nursing Assistant, Registered (NAR) on the MDH Nursing Assistant Registry by start date OR hired into Ebenezer’s Nursing Assistant Course or Ebenezer’s Pre-CNA job for Nursing Assistants, with a 4-month post-hire period to become active on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric population.
• Communicate efficiently, with compassion and understanding for residents and coworkers.
• Experience working as a HHA, PCA, DSP, NA, or Resident Assistant.
• Work experience in a customer service setting.

Pay

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If eligible, a sign-on bonus may be offered based on the approved program at the time of the offer.
