Patient Care
Patients and families are served in providing direct patient care services.
Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
Ensures that contacts with other health care members is friendly, helpful, and courteous.
Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Licensure/Registration/Certification: Certified by the N. C. Department of Facility Services as a NAI.
- BCLS Certification.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Interpersonal, communication, and observation skills are essential.
- Understanding of patient care needs according to developmental stages for various age groups.
Work Environment
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, and other infectious diseases requiring the use of protective equipment.
- Exposure to other hazards, such as radiation, toxic waste, chemical hazards based on the departments.
- Conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, sitting, walking and working throughout the shift.
- Lifting, pulling, turning and pushing patients daily.
- Ability to use appropriate Safe-Patient Handling equipment.
- Visual acuity, auditory and verbal skills necessary.
- Stressful work periods and rotating shifts.
Pay and Benefits
Salary Range: $14.89 - $17.13 per hour (Minimum to Midpoint ).
