Responsibilities
- Aid physicians and healthcare providers with examinations and procedures.
- Procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
- Observe, collect, and document patient information.
- Promptly report significant changes in patient condition to a registered nurse or physician.
- Assist patients and their families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
- Provide care/treatments as outlined in the plan of care, including monitoring vital signs, specimen collection, skin preps, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range-of-motion exercises, drain care, and ADL assistance.
- Maintain a clean clinical work environment by cleaning the work area, changing linens, monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients/specimens.
- Ensure competency in all required skills and complete annual competency assessments.
- Adhere to documented policies and processes and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Nursing Assistant certification, such as Nurse Aide I registration from NCBON.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
