Nursing Assistant PRN Premium

Responsibilities

• Takes and records vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure.
• Changes bed linen and prepares treatment trays and other supplies.
• Aids in patient cleaning, feeding, and preparation for treatment.
• Assists with daily living activities such as bed baths, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing, back rubs, and linen freshening.
• Serves food to patients and feeds them when needed.
• Transports patients to and from designated areas of the hospital in a caring and considerate manner.
• Retrieves and delivers medications from the pneumatic tube system or pharmacy.
• Performs patient phlebotomy following department and facility policies and procedures, successfully obtaining specimens with minimal discomfort.
• Answers patient call lights, assists with personal hygiene, and maintains a safe and comfortable environment.
• Cleans rooms and equipment, prepares for sterilization and disinfection, and reports damaged equipment and other issues to appropriate personnel.
• Participates in unit quality assurance programs and provides input for end-of-shift reports and CIS documentation.
• Collaborates with physicians and assists with examinations, treatments, and special tests as directed by a Registered Nurse.
• Collects and transports patient specimens to the lab.
• Assists with patient rehabilitation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Runs inter-departmental errands for nursing personnel in an expedient and professional manner.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• BLS certification required
