About the role
Become part of Essentia’s accomplished team in Duluth, Minnesota on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to patients and serve their needs in a way that promotes their safety and comfort.
- Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, or Department Director (with guidance from an LPN), contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
- Varying duties based on patient care unit/department, which may include:
- Personal hygiene care
- Aiding with nutritional needs
- Providing comfort care and other assistance
- Appropriately and safely transferring patients
- Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
- Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to: $1,500
- Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- This position requires floating between PACU and Outpatient Surgery.
Education
- Must have 6 months of nursing assistant experience
- Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
- Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
- Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
