Responsible Care
Provides direct care to patients and serves the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN).
- Personal hygiene care
- Aiding with nutritional needs
- Providing comfort care and other assistance
- Appropriately and safely transferring patients
- Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
- Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process
Education Qualifications
- Education: Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred.
- If not certified as a Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within 3 months from date of employment.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications
- BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
Schedule
Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Days: 8:30am-5pm
- No weekends or holidays
Duties

- Patient transport
- Room turnover and set up
- Lab transport
- Supply ordering and stocking
