Nursing Assistant (NA) / Nights

About the role

Select Specialty Hospital – Erie is a critical illness recovery hospital committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants (NA) play a central role in delivering compassionate, excellent care during some of the most vulnerable moments of patients’ lives.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers; assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant
• Certification as a nursing assistant
• Experience in a related field (e.g., medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
