Nursing Assistant - Med/Surgical 9T; 0.7 FTE; PM Shift
FTE: 0.7 • Hours per week: 28 • Shift: PM (evenings), 8-hour shifts with every-other weekend and holiday rotation
About the role
The Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs basic nursing assistant procedures as taught during their training and certification program. Responsibilities include practicing medical asepsis, respecting patient dignity and privacy, maintaining objectivity, adhering to hospital safety policies, and working within their scope of training under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse. Work assignments are provided both in writing and orally, with the expectation to complete them within the scheduled shift.
Join our 35-bed Med/Surgical unit, a dynamic, multidisciplinary team providing high-quality, compassionate care to complex surgical and medical patients. The unit serves a diverse patient population, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ENT, plastics, and general medical patients.
Responsibilities
- Practice medical asepsis in all patient care activities
- Respect the dignity and privacy of every patient
- Maintain objectivity during patient care
- Adhere to hospital safety policies and procedures
- Work within the scope of CNA training and certification
- Complete written and oral work assignments within the scheduled shift
Requirements
- State of Wisconsin certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Current CPR certification or eligibility for certification
- Must be available the first week of employment from 8 AM – 4:30 PM for CNA orientation
