About the role
MedSurg West 1 is a 25-bed Medical/Surgical and Telemetry Unit that cares for patients with general and complex medical and surgical needs, often serving those with serious health issues. The unit is staffed by a skilled and compassionate nursing team, including a Hospitalist Team, who work alongside the Nursing Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provides basic nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a professional nurse.
- Understands and demonstrates current OSHA standards.
- Records patient care accurately on the Patient Care Flow Sheet.
- Communicates appropriately to patients, visitors, and personnel from other departments via telephone.
Qualifications/Experience
- High School Diploma.
- AHA BLS Healthcare Provider.
- One year of previous experience as a nursing assistant.
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation.
- Completion of an approved certified nursing assistant training program.
- Equivalent experience as determined by the CNO or designee.
