Nursing Assistant Cardiology

About the role

Fairview Ridges Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support the Medical Surgical Cardiology/IMC unit. Located in Burnsville, MN, approximately 20 minutes from Minneapolis, MN, near the 35 E and 35 W junctions. This position is part-time, working 48 hours every two weeks, rotating weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and evenings (3 PM - 11:30 PM).

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional nurse/caregiver in delivering patient care.
• Transports patients and equipment.
• Sets up and maintains patient rooms.
• Reorders and stocks supplies.
• Performs routine duties such as personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene, specimen collection, position/ambulation, changing linens, and answering call lights.
• Maintains patient condition by monitoring vital signs, placing patients on/off monitors, and reporting unusual findings.
• Aids in admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients.
• Orients patients and families to the environment and ensures belongings are accounted for.
• Transports patients to appointments and assists with transfers and ambulation using a transfer belt.
• Cleans and maintains patient rooms and equipment.
• Documents tasks performed accurately and promptly.
• Performs other assigned tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored program.
• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting.
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with completion of one semester of clinical rotation.
• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.

Qualifications

• Ontrack participants must obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.

The pay rate within the posted range may vary based on various factors including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Schedule
