Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and using the bathroom
- Help patients move safely, including transfers and using wheelchairs, walkers, or canes
- Provide nursing care by performing medical tasks including vital signs, weight, finger-stick blood tests, ECGs, and breathalyzer tests. Collect specimens for point-of-care testing as needed.
- Make sure patients eat, drink, and stay hydrated
- Assist with room searches, skin assessments, conduct patient safety checks are required
- Guide patients for scheduled medications, provider visits, lab tests, groups and activities, etc.
- Maintain a safe and caring environment, delivering care in a culturally sensitive manner and consistent with Wellbridge mission, vision, and values
- Monitor medical supply inventory and replenish stock
- Provide assistance during admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Provide emotional support and help during emergencies and/or crisis situations. Complete incident reports as necessary
- Encourage patients to take part in their treatment and recovery
Essential Functions
- Ability to assess medical needs and provide patient care. For patient care needs, this is an on-site role.
- Consistently move self about patient care areas.
- Occasionally lift and move medical equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to verbally communicate related to patient care.
- Consistent computer and phone, general office equipment use.
- Update medical records while in a stationary position up to 30% of the time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in NYS preferred.
- Related experience in healthcare, nursing, or behavioral health. Experience in detox, rehab, or withdrawal management settings is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 60 days)
- Basic knowledge of substance use and mental health required, familiarity with OASAS, ASAM, and Joint Commission standards is preferred.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills

Pay
This position is eligible for applicable shift pay differentials.
Schedule
- Day shift: 7a-7:30p
- Night shift: 7p-7:30a
