Overview Shift’s Available: Nights Hours: 12-hour shifts: 7p - 7a Employment Type: Full Time Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant , also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele Nursing Assistant . The Med-Surg/Tele Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery. Responsibilities Basic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating Vital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation Mobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices. EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified Nursing Assistant’s (CNA’s) don't usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nurses Observation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff Qualifications Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate, preferred Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office, preferred Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan 401K Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: https://www.primehealthcare.com/careers/benefits/ Employment Status Full Time Shift Nights Equal Employment Opportunity Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
