Nursing Assistant
About the role
As our Nursing Assistant (NA), you will perform essential direct patient care, working under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, often while actively pursuing your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Responsibilities
- Provides basic nursing care within the Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice that includes actions that meet psychological and physical needs of patients, such as, positioning, lifting and turning patients; applying/utilizing special equipment; monitoring skin condition; assisting in toileting and ambulating patients.
- Performs basic patient care responsibilities considering the needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
- Answer patients’ call lights, anticipates their needs and makes rounds to assigned patients. Responds to patient in emergency or physically distressful condition.
- Follows established infection control practices.
- Takes and records temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, intake and output.
- Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patient. Transports patients to and from various departments, as required.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of start date
- High School Diploma or GED

Pay
The posted compensation range of $17.28 - $24.41 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
