About the role
The Nursing Assistant in our Assisted Living community supports residents' physical and emotional well-being by assisting with activities of daily living while creating a warm, respectful, and home-like environment. This role is ideal for someone with a heart for service and a desire to begin a rewarding career in senior care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, meals, and mobility
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through compassionate interaction and companionship
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to care team members
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and home-like living environment
- Provide courteous support to residents, families, and visitors
- Work collaboratively with caregivers, nurses, and community leadership
- Maintain professional behavior and represent your community positively
- Follow resident care plans and comply with state and federal guidelines
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Willingness to complete training and learn new skills
- No certification or prior healthcare experience required; on-the-job training provided
- Interest in future certification or career growth in senior care is a plus
Physical Demands
- Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
- Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance
- Maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.
Safety Requirements
- Follow proper resident care procedures, including two-person lifts when required
- Utilize required PPE to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens
- Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
- Participate in company drug testing procedures
