Nursing Assistant 3-11- St. Catherine's Village SC

Responsibilities

• Provides for patient's personal hygiene: gives bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assists with showers.
• Affords compassionate and understanding assistance during patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Takes and records patient vital signs and intake-output measurements as directed, documenting accurately in CIS.
• Reports unusual incidents or changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to appropriate personnel.
• Assists patients with daily living activities, positioning, pre- and post-operative care, and feeding when needed.
• Prepares patients for meals, serves food, and transports patients to and from designated areas in a caring and professional manner.
• Maintains patient identification bracelets and ensures a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.
• Cleans rooms, prepares for sterilization, and reports damaged equipment to appropriate personnel.
• Participates in end-of-shift reports, CIS documentation, and unit quality assurance programs.
• Utilizes equipment, supplies, and resources prudently and efficiently to support efficient departmental operations and high-quality health care services.
• Strives to enhance the quality and efficiency of one’s own performance through participation in staff educational programs and continuing education courses.
• Collaborates with physicians and nurses to assist with examinations, treatments, special tests, specimen collection, and patient rehabilitation.
• Runs inter-departmental errands for nursing personnel in an expedient and professional manner.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
