Statement of Primary Purpose
Provide instructional services to nursing students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach assigned courses, both in-person and online, in accordance with course outlines and published course schedule.
- Maintain accurate records for each course taught, including attendance and student grades.
- Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as necessary.
- Participate in curriculum advisory committee meetings, if applicable.
- Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of the instructor and the course.
- Submit all college reports in an accurate, timely fashion.
- Be responsible for professional development and maintaining professional competence.
- Provide clinical education duties as assigned.
- Assign and grade clinical education assignments and paperwork.
- Submit all college reports in an accurate, timely fashion.
- Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Registered Nurse License.
- BSN Degree required, MSN-Education preferred (or in progress).
- 2 years of clinical nursing experience is required; community college teaching experience is preferred.
- Desire to teach and guide nursing students in clinical, lab, and simulation.
- Knowledge of current nursing practice for registered and licensed practical nurses.
- Current CPR certification (BLS), qualifying TB test in the last year, vaccinations up to date (titers or waivers accepted for some), or ability to complete clinical onboarding requirements in a timely manner.
- Licensing Requirement: Unencumbered North Carolina RN License or Multistate Compact.
- Valid NC Driver’s License.
Physical Demands
