Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unencumbered licensure as an RN or LPN in Massachusetts or New York - we will assist with reciprocity
- CPR certification
- Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience within a hospital, nursing care center or other related healthcare setting
- Must have minimum of one year experience in long term care
- Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, and infection control/prevention
- Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred
Job Duties
- Assure appropriate utilization of resources necessary for the delivery of quality patient care
- Communicate with other departments, patients, and families to ensure a coordinated interdisciplinary approach
- Oversee unit & nursing staff and assist as needed
- Aids in the orientation, education, competency, and practice improvement of other nursing personnel
- Surveillance of resident and staff infections monthly with attack rate and appropriateness of isolation quarterly
- Act in the capacity of the Director of Nursing in his/her absence
