Nurse Unit Manager RN
Villa at Silverbell Estates is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager RN to manage the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
Responsibilities
- Manages the nursing staff, including scheduling breaks, reassigning employees, writing performance reviews, and enforcing policies with responsibility to issue Coaching and Corrective Action as needed.
- Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, and other related departments in planning care.
- Develops and maintains care standards.
- Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and ensure nursing personnel perform work assignments according to acceptable nursing standards.
- Gives and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
- Ensures assigned work areas (e.g., nurse station, med cart, medication room), resident/patient care rooms, and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
- Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
- Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, and family members.
- Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
- Ensures all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and the resident’s response.
- Documents all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, company standards, and policies.
- Completes required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
- Informs nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, and room assignment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current CPR Certification.
- Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling, with or without the aid of mechanical devices.
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards.
- Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
