Spring Meadows A Villa Center is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager RN to join their team. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the nursing staff, including scheduling breaks, reassigning employees as facility needs dictate, writing performance reviews, and enforcing policies with responsibility to issue Coaching and Corrective Action as needed.
  • Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, and other related departments in planning care.
  • Develops and maintains care standards.
  • Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and ensure nursing personnel perform their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
  • Gives and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Ensures assigned work areas (e.g., nurse station, med cart, medication room), resident/patient care rooms, and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
  • Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting.
  • Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc.
  • Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
  • Ensures all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and the resident’s response to care.
  • Documents all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, company standards, and policies.
  • Completes required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Informs nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, and room assignment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
  • Current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and delegate to others.
  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling, with or without the aid of mechanical devices.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards.
  • Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
