Job Summary
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) seeks a Nurse Surveyor Supervisor I (NSS I) to support the department's mission and strategic plan. This position provides first-level supervision to Nurse Surveyors, reviews reports and surveys, communicates with stakeholders, and ensures quality work.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews all reports, surveys, and correspondence prepared by field staff and State Fire Marshals.
- Communicates with the public and health facility operators/administrators on policy, procedures, and regulatory interpretations.
- Works with Program personnel to ensure quality work and performance.
- Ensures compliance with State, Federal, and local laws and regulations.
- Provides first-level supervision to Nurse Surveyors.
- May require up to 25% travel.
- Works under the direction of the Nurse Surveyor Supervisor II (NSS II).
- May work a hybrid telework schedule.
- Subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which includes a 3% salary reduction in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Nursing or related field, plus one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must also hold a valid California RN license and be certified as a Certified Nurse Surveyor (CNS).
Benefits
The position offers a Recruitment and Retention Differential of $200 per month and may be eligible for the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025.
Pay and Schedule
