Job Summary
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) seeks a Nurse Surveyor Supervisor I (NSS I) to support the department's mission and strategic plan. This position provides first-level supervision to Nurse Surveyors, reviews reports and surveys, communicates with stakeholders, and ensures quality work.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews reports, surveys, and correspondence prepared by field staff and State Fire Marshals.
- Communicates with the public and health facility operators/administrators on policy, procedures, and regulatory interpretations.
- Works with Program personnel to ensure quality work and performance.

- Ensures compliance with State, Federal, and local laws and regulations.
- Provides guidance and support to Nurse Surveyors.
- Participates in meetings and training sessions as needed.
- May require up to 25% travel.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Master's degree in Nursing or a related field, with a minimum of one year of experience in healthcare administration or surveying. Applicants must also hold a valid California Registered Nurse license and be certified as a Certified Nurse Surveyor (CNS).
Benefits
The position is subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which temporarily reduces monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. The salary range for this position is $8,240.00 - $10,246.00.
